Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw also known by her stage name Elizabeth Alice MacGraw has been an actor, model and advocate for animal rights in the United States. She has been acclaimed for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969), and The Getaway, (1972). She was raised by an artistic family from New York and wanted to explore a career in the art. Her first job was as a photographer's assistant, and then turned to acting and modeling. MacGraw was noticed in two of her films and received Golden Globe Award for Most Popular newcomer. MacGraw's 1970 movie Love Story was an international hit, earning her the Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe Award. In just three films, MacGraw was named the top female box-office debut in the world. In 1972 her hand-footprints and autograph were engraved at Grauman's Chinese Theater. She was a part of several different films, such as The Getaway Convoy Players and television miniseries The Winds of War among many others. Moving Pictures, her 1991 autobiography was published. MacGraw was married three times.
